HALIFAX • Grace A. Shoop, 98, of Halifax, died April 23, 2021, at home. She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Halifax, Pa., the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred (Dimpsey) Miller. Grace married the late Wayne R. Shoop on May 30, 1943. She retired from the Commonwealth of PA State Employee Retirement System. She was a member of Halifax United Methodist Church, Halifax Historical Society, Red Hat Society and the Silver Belles. When she retired, she enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her two daughters Karen and her husband Ronald Espenshade, and Kendra and her husband Dave Bordner both of Halifax; grandchildren, Tonya and her husband Troy Schantz, Hilary Espenshade, Cortney Paul, Brooke and her husband Jeff Sampeer, and Nathan and his wife Jennah Bordner; great-grandchildren, Madison, Morgan and Blake Schantz, Caden and Gavin Paul, Quinn, Kai and Beck Sampeer and Lena Bordner. She was preceded in death by her siblings Arthur Miller and Miriam Hornberger. Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Halifax U.M. Church with burial to follow at Jacob’s U.B. Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the church at 105 Wind Hill Rd., Halifax PA 17032.
