Glenn E. Hoover

HALIFAX • Glenn E. Hoover, 81, passed into his heavenly home Jan. 14, 2021, at UPMC West Shore Hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1939, in Halifax. ​He was the son of the late Raymond C. Hoover and Kathryn M. (Witman) Hoover. ​He is survived by the love of his life, Linda F. (Miller) Hoover, whom he married in 1966; his two beloved children, son Brian K. Hoover and his wife Kathryn (Mack) of Harrisburg, and daughter Angela R. Sulouff and her husband John of Halifax; three grandchildren, Michelle (Seth) Lasko, Cody Sulouff and Kayla (Tyler) Wade; eight great-grandchildren: Ethan, Mason, Chase and Hailey Lasko, and Hoyt, Josie, Massey and Rhett Wade; one brother, Charles L. Hoover of Halifax; many extended family members and friends including his best furry friend Bentley. ​He was preceded in death by his brothers Russell, Raymond Jr., Robert, Eugene and sisters Pauline (Strohecker), Helen, Anna and Betty. ​Glenn graduated from Halifax Area Joint High School in 1959. ​Glenn served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964 and was stationed in Okinawa. ​He was a champion bowler and collected many trophies during his service. He worked at various car dealerships including local dealerships such as Burrell Pontiac-Buick and Witmer Motors. He then worked for Accu-Mold Plastics in Halifax for many years until he retired. Glenn was an artist and a photographer. He loved to draw and design houses and cars for fun and enjoyment. He frequently printed out pictures he took and shared his albums at family gatherings. He collected model cars, 1:18-scale diecast cars and loved to play games with Farkle and Scrabble being his two favorites. He really enjoyed watching the old classic TV shows, westerns and listening to music. He loved his family very much, and he was always smiling and laughing. Glenn brought joy to everyone he met. ​Services were held Jan. 25 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd, Millersburg, Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Halifax.
