LANCASTER • George W. Troxell, 89, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018.
He was the husband of Dorothy E. Forney Troxell, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage this past Feb. 27. Born in Wiconisco, Pa., he was the son of the late Isaac B. and Bessie E. Dietrich Troxell.
George had worked for Easco and K-D Tools as an assembler for many years, until retiring in 1988. Prior to this, he had worked for the Hamilton Watch Company.
A very talented woodworker, he made many furniture pieces and built his own acoustic and electric guitars. He played not only the guitar but the ukulele and the banjo as well. He also was a HAM radio operator and enjoyed puttering in his garden and landscaping.
George was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War as a machinists mate third class.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Lois Seredych of Wiconisco, and by several nieces and a nephew.
Memorial services were held Nov. 19 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, Pa.
Interment was in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens.
