MUIR • George A. Hand, 90, died July 5 at Broad Mountain Nursing Home, Frackville. He was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Muir, a son of the late Harvey and Sadie Schnell Hand. He was a graduate of Porter High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from the maintenance department at New Cumberland Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Zelinsky Hand; and a sister, Betty Harman. He is survived by two sons, George Hand and Randy Hand, both of Tower City; a sister, June Romberger of Muir; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery, Muir.
