DALMATIA • Gene D. Snyder, 90, of Dalmatia, and formerly of Herndon, died May 8, at UPMC-Sunbury Hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1928, in Red Cross, a son of the late Norman and Margaret Robinson Snyder. He was a lifelong mechanic. He was a member of Himmel’s Lutheran Church, Dornsife; served many years on the Herndon Borough Council; was a life member of Herndon Fire Co., a member of Dalmatia Fire Co.; Lower Northumberland County Senior Action Center; and a social member of Alvin Long Post No. 504 American Legion Herndon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Herrold Snyder; a son, Harry Snyder; a grandson; and three brothers: William, James and Barry Snyder. He is survived by four daughters: Peggy Starr of Dornsife, Ann Walshaw and Mary Renn, both of Herndon, and Carol Drumheiser of Selinsgrove; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Feger of Dauphin; and several nieces and nephews.
