Freddy C. Stoneroad

ELIZABETHVILLE • Freddy C. Stoneroad, age 73, of St. John’s Road, died Dec. 27, 2020, at UPMC West Shore. He was born June 27, 1947, in Millersburg, Pa., the son of the late George and Bertha (Arnold) Silks. He was a retired planner estimator for the Pennsylvania Power and Light Co. and also was a tag-out superintendent for McCarls, both in Bruner, York Haven. He was a member of the American Legion No. 404, Elizabethville, Bruner Island Club and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Freddy enjoyed hunting turkey and deer with flintlock. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife in the Caribbean, and his favorite destination was Hawaii. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Sandra M. (Niell) Stoneroad and his son Daniel C. Stoneroad, both of Elizabethville; four brothers, Leonard and Chester Silks, both of Millersburg, and Henry and Dale Silks, both of North Carolina; two sisters, Brenda Peck and Shirley Shumaker, both of Halifax. He was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Willis. Services will be held at Millersburg Assembly of God, Millersburg. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd., Elizabethville, is handling the arrangements.
