Frances Ellen Shadle
HALIFAX • Frances Ellen Shadle was received into the arms of her Savior Friday, June 5 at 5:45 p.m. at the age of 97. She passed peacefully in her home in Boyertown, Pa., comfortable, loved and surrounded by her closest family and friends. Frances was born to parents Maybel and Pierce Jury Holtzman May 13, 1923, in Fisherville, Pa. She spent her childhood with her three siblings in the town of Fisherville. In 1942, she married Linn Harmon and brought twin boys into the world, Robert Lee and Donald Eugene. In 1947, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Linda Kay. Her children were her pride and joy, and she raised them with love and care. In 1958, she re-married the late Wilburt Shadle and left her hometown to move to Pottstown, Pa., where she resided 40 years. Frances was known for her love of playing cards and bingo. We’re not sure how often she cheated, but she won an awful lot. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. If you visited her home, you never left hungry! She also appreciated crafting and taking camping trips. One thing above all, Frances loved her family. She was known for showing up at a loved one’s home to clean and fold their wash. She was selfless and caring, and her legacy of love will live on through her family for generations to come. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maybel and Pierce Holtzman; sisters, Mildred Matter and Josephine Bechtel, and brother Robert Holtzman. She was also pre-deceased by her beloved twin boys, Robert Harmon and Donald Harmon. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Linda, wife of the late Jack Shifflette; granddaughters, Nicole, wife of Barry High, Suzanne, wife of Daniel Miller and Michele, wife of David Newbury. She is also remembered by eight beloved great-grandchildren, Tonya, Toby, Amber, Stephanie, Rodney, Bobby, Timmy, Hailey and 13 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom she loved dearly.
