MILLERSBURG • Ethel Miller, age 91, of Richfield, formerly of Millersburg, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019, at the Richfield Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 4, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Iris (Forney) Murphy of Millersburg. Ethel graduated from Millersburg High School in 1945. She worked at the Muskin and Johnson Baillie Shoe factories, the Department of Agriculture and Pennsylvania Fish Commission, where she retired in 1987. Ethel was a member of Richfield United Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, old movies and listening to her record collection. Ethel was preceded in death by husbands John Adams and Howard Miller; and sisters Hazel Forney and Ida (Jack) Ibberson. She is survived by two sons, Keith (Colleen) Adams of Halifax and John (Jan) Adams of Enola; a daughter, Lynette (Terry) Hoffman of Millersburg; stepson William Miller (Linda) of Rochester, N.Y.; and two stepdaughters, Lily (Pat) McGovern of Alexandria, Va., and Linda (Jeff) Beard of Afton, Va. She has 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A memorial service, open to the public, will be held at Richfield United Church of Christ at a later date to be determined by the family.
