MCCOYSVILLE • Emory W. Zimmerman, 79, of McCoysville, passed away at 9:42 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at his home. Born Feb. 26, 1942, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late John A. and Stella (Goss) Zimmerman. June 17, 1961, he married his late wife, Sonja Ann (Henry) Zimmerman with whom he was blessed to share nearly 52 years of marriage before her passing March 24, 2013. He is survived by: two daughters, Connie L. Zitsch of Enola and Cathy A. Craig and her husband Christopher of Halifax; a companion, Linda L. Harman of McCoysville; five grandchildren, Justin Zitsch and his wife Emily, Heather Wiest, Christy Zitsch, Brandon Craig and his wife Samantha, and Michael Zitsch; seven great-grandchildren, Emory, Hayden, Kahleigh, Aryah, Zoe, Zane and Braxton; and also he is survived by his four-legged feline friend, Tommy. Mr. Zimmerman was a 1961 graduate of Chief Logan High School, of the Methodist faith and had attended the Cornerstone Community Church in Mexico. He retired with 30 years of service as a truck driver for Roadway Express of Carlisle and was a farmer, owning and operating the Circle Z Farm of McCoysville. Emory loved the outdoors, farming, hunting, butchering, traveling and taking care of all of his pets; however, his family was most important to him. All services will be private with the Rev. Donna Christopher officiating. Interment will take place at McCoysville Cemetery.
