Elmer Allen Tressler
MILLERSBURG • Elmer Allen Tressler, 86, of Millersburg, died June 25, 2020, at UPMC West Shore Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a resident at Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon. He was born Dec. 27, 1933 in Malta, Pa., the son of the late Lee I. and Pearl Irene (Miller) Tressler. Elmer was married to the late Edith (Phillips) Tressler for 67 years. He retired from Brubaker Tool Co., and after retiring worked at Engle-Rissinger and Maguire’s Ford. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, hunting, fishing, and family gatherings. Elmer was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Millersburg, and the National Rifle Assn. He also enjoyed attending the Sunday evening services at Armstrong Valley Bible Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Bruce A. Tressler of Millersburg; daughters Catherine I. Ford of Millersburg and her companion Michael Fulkroad, Jean M. Martz and her husband James A. of Halifax and Susan K. Hoy and her husband Scott of Halifax; grandchildren, Amy Ford, Beth Ford, Charles Ford III, Brandi Witmer and her husband Rodney, Michael J. Martz, Heather Quick and her husband Jason, Cameron Hoy and his wife Chelsea and Jarrett Hoy and his companion Brianna Rowe; great-grandchildren Gavin Ford, Breawna Ford, Roman and Milani Ford, Emmalie Enders, Marshall Witmer, and Peyton Quick. He was preceded in death by a son James A. Tressler, a son-in-law Charles Ford Jr., and a grandson Corey A. Tressler. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 1 at Armstrong Valley Bible Baptist Church from 10 –11 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Malta. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to either church – Armstrong Valley Bible Baptist Church, 2041 Armstrong Valley Rd, Halifax PA 17032 or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 324 North St., Millersburg PA 17061.
