MILLERSBURG • Elba Ruiz, 89, of Millersburg, died May 24, 2019, at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. She was born May 9, 1930, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Jose and Felipa (Serano) Ruiz. Elba was the wife of the late Mario Figueroa. She is survived by her daughters, Miriam and her husband Al Walker, and Rosa and her husband The Rev. Mark Hoffman; sons: Mariano Figueroa and his wife Alison, Johnny Figueroa and his wife Elizabeth, Joseph Figueroa and his wife Diana and Daniel Figueroa; grandchildren: Melissa, Jennifer, Melanie, Melody, Miguel, Yelixa, Johnny Jr., Matthew, J.J., Anthony, Marie and Jacob; and 19 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister Carmen Ruiz; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son James Delgado. Funeral Mass was held at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Millersburg. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 324 North St., Millersburg, PA 17061.
