DALMATIA • Edwin D. Shoop, 95, died July 31 at his residence. He was born April 3, 1924, in Herndon, a son of the late Guy and Carrie Shoop. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and took part in the Normandy Invasion; served on three LST Landing Crafts, 682, 1127 and 57 during his service. He worked as a farmer and independent trucker. He was a member of American Legion Alvin E. Long Post 504, Plank owner of U.S. Navy Memorial, and the Rev. Shueller’s Eagles Club in Fullerton, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Shoop. He is survived by three sons: Dewaine Shoop, Paul Shoop and Daniel Shoop and a grandson. Services were held Aug. 6 at James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. Burial was in St. Luke’s Cemetery, Malta. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.
