MILLERSBURG • Douglas L. Howard, age 63, of Hup Road, passed away March 7, 2019, at UPMC Harrisburg. He was born Aug. 24, 1955, in Harrisburg, a son of the late Donald and Catherine (Mowery) Howard. He was a retired refrigeration maintenance tech from Remco. He enjoyed drag racing at Beaver Springs Dragstrip and traveling with his wife. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association and International Hot Rod Association. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Patty (Harris) Howard; two brothers, Edward (Carol) Howard, Millersburg, and Scott Howard (Connie), Elizabethville; and nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation and remembrance held at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd., Millersburg, Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 6-7 p.m. With Douglas’ passing, his wish to help others was fulfilled by his donation to the Gift of Life Donor Program.
