MILLERSBURG • Dora H. Mattern, 92, passed away Feb. 18, 2019, at Premier at Susquehanna. She was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Sacramento, the daughter of the late Moses and Minnie (Deibert) Kessler. Dora retired from the former TRW Jet Plant in Harrisburg. She enjoyed playing pinochle and golf, having played in the Ladies League and Mixed Couples League for many years. Dora loved to travel. She was a master gardener and member of the Lykens Valley Garden Club. She also was a gold star member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a very faithful member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Millersburg; she participated on the church council, sewing circle and altar guild. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Fralick (Robert Novinger); grandsons, Jason and his wife Desiree and Justin and his wife Rachel; granddaughters, Jordan and Hadley Fralick; grandson Maxwell Fralick; sister, Leah Hollenbach; and sister-in-law Betty Kessler. She was preceded in death by siblings: Ray Kessler, Mary Klinger, Eva Wiest and John Kessler, sister-in-law Lena Kessler; and brothers-in-law, William Klinger and Paul Wiest. Services were held Feb. 23, 2019, at her church. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Erdman. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the church: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Social Ministry Special Project at 324 North St., Millersburg, PA 17061 or the Millersburg Ferryboat Association.
