HALIFAX • Donna Jean Midile, age 68, formerly of Cresson, died Feb. 12, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born May 27, 1952, in Altoona, Pa., the daughter of the late Earl and Louise (Sanker) McGarry. Donna Jean graduated in 1970 from Penn Cambria High School. Donna Jean retired from Highmark, Camp Hill, in 2017 after 26 years. Jeannie was a super, loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was always an upbeat and fun-loving person. Jeannie was an active member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Millersburg; where she made homemade cards for sick and hospitalized members of the church; the Millersburg Moose (Women of the Moose), served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Mandata American Legion and also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Millersburg VFW. Jeannie’s interests included spending time with her family, camping and boating at Raystown Lake, watching all her grandchildren at their sporting events and performances and donating to multiple charities involving veterans and children. She really enjoyed cheering for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. Jeannie was preceeded in death by brothers Tom and John McGarry and mother-in-law and father-in-law Margaret and Joseph Midile. Surviving are her husband of 45 years, Patrick John Robert Midile of Halifax; son, Russ Hoover (Danielle) of Mechanicsburg; son, Shawn Midile (Stephanie) of Halifax and step-daughter, Bridget Midile of Johnstown; grandchildren Tyler Hoover, Sara Hoover, Alyssa Hoover, Brayden Midile, Liam Midile, Kyler Midile, Zackary Kent, Austin Midile and Justin Midile; siblings, Jim McGarry (Gail) of Carlisle, Arnie McGarry (Mona Lynn) of Winder, Ga., Linda Burk of Lilly, Debbie Hoover (Jim) of Loretto, Bill McGarry (Kelly) of Cresson, and Carol McCloskey (Gary) of Cresson; brother-in-law Joe Midile Jr. (Becky Steele) of Medina, Ohio, brother-in-law Mike Midile Sr. of Rocky Mount, N.C., and sister-in-law Barb Simpson (Bob) of Holtwood; aunts Rose-Marie, Feenie and Mary Jane and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she all adored. The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 18 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Millersburg, from 10-10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Millersburg, from 11-11:45 a.m., with burial to follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at 1 p.m. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
