MILLERSBURG • Donald B. “Don” Heckert, born April 17, 1935, and was called home Oct. 27, 2018. Donald was born in Harrisburg, Pa., and lived in West Hanover Twp., Pa. and Jensen Beach, Fla. He graduated from Millersburg High School, Susquehanna University of PA and Devry Technical Institute of Chicago. He worked for AMP Incorporated for 34 years. He was a member of Mt. Cavalry UM church in West Hanover Twp., Pa. Donald and Janet were married for more than 61 amazing years together. They enjoyed camping, boating and fishing together. They loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. Donald is survived by his wife Janet Heckert; son Donald C. Heckert and wife Carolyn; daughter Beverly Bastardi and husband Gary; five granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Carbon Seebold Heckert and Lenora Beaver Heckert and sister Judith Heckert Boyer. A memorial service will be held at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., in Millersburg, Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg.
