MILLERSBURG • Don Wayne Klinger, age 83, of Millersburg, went home peacefully to be with his heavenly Father Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at his residence. He was born April 21, 1935, in Millersburg, Pa., son of the late Russell and Virginia (Enders) Klinger. Don graduated from Millersburg Area High School, then proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. His service allowed him to circumnavigate the world and gain membership in the “Magellan Club.” He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Pennsylvania College of Technology. He was a self-employed architect in Millersburg for the majority of his professional life. He also continued his education throughout his career, studying at Harvard. Don was a member of David’s Community Bible Church in Killinger. He was a beloved Bible teacher, Sunday School teacher, interim pastor and taught at Bible Truth Institute in Sunbury. His greatest passion was soul-winning. In addition to that, he enjoyed water color and acrylic painting, skiing, fishing, ballroom dancing, biking and traveling. He loved spending time with his family. Don was married to Marcia (Gingrich) Klinger of Millersburg for 35 years. In addition, he is survived by a daughter Natalie (Mike) Morrow of Harrisburg; a son Scott (Glenda) of Millersburg; a daughter Suzanne Miller of Norristown; and daughters Miranda Hoover (Chris) and Megan Etzweiler (Andy), both of Millersburg; grandchildren: Tina Fleck (Dan), Nathan Morrow, Aaron Morrow, Ian Klinger, Nikolas Miller, Patrick Miller, Lance Hoover, Marleigh Hoover, Tate Etzweiler, Luke Etzweiler and Ted Hoover; and two great-grandchildren Ethan and Elle Fleck. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law Mary Ellen Klinger and Ginny Klinger. He was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Lupold Klinger; a son Matthew Klinger; a granddaughter Jessica Morrow; a son-in-law Rob Miller; and his six siblings Thelma, Bea, Rhoda, Jack, Bud, Mary and Dee. Services were held Feb. 16 at David’s Community Bible Church. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Don’s honor to David’s Community Bible Church, Route 25, Millersburg, PA 17061. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., in Millersburg handled the arrangements.
