HALIFAX • Dixie Lee Peters, age 80, of Lower Paxton Twp. and formerly of Halifax, passed away, Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born May 3, 1941, in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Eugene W. and Rosalie V. (Bowman) Jackson. Dixie was the widow of retired USAF Chief Master Sergeant, George C. “Pete” Peters. She was a lifetime member of the Halifax United Methodist Church. She worked as a dance/agape coordinator for the Halifax High School and retired from PHEAA. Dixie enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons, George C. “Chris” Peters II and Kevin S. Peters (Kathy), both of Harrisburg; brother, Douglas (Rosanne) Jackson of Palmyra; and three grandchildren, Kirk, Cole and Karagen. She was preceded in death by a son, Keith A. Peters, and sister, Dawn McDonald. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2021, 10-11 a.m., at her church, Halifax United Methodist Church. Services will start at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to her church at 105 Wind Hill Dr., Halifax PA 17032.
