DALMATIA • Dianne L. Smeltz, 72, died Feb. 28, at her residence. She was born March 20, 1946, a daughter of Polly Martz of Lykens and the late Harold Martz. She graduated from Mahanoy Joint High School and Empire Beauty School. She operated her own beauty shop for more than 40 years and worked as a Mary Kay beauty consultant. She was a member of St. Paul’s UCC. She served as a Sunday School teacher and a VBS coordinator and was a member of the Herndon Senior Citizen Center. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Laverne Smeltz; two children, Wanda Wilkinson and Wendy Wacker; her mother; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Martz; a sister, Dana Foulds; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of life service was held March 5 at St. Paul’s UCC Church, Herndon. A private burial service will be held at the discretion of the family.
