ELIZABETHVILLE • Dewey E. Wilbert, 93, passed away, Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his residence. He was born April 21, 1928, in Millersburg, the son of the late George and Carrie (Bonawitz) Wilbert. He was the widower of Sara L. (Duttenhoffer) Wilbert. He was a retired machinist and had worked for the former TRW and Chromalloy plants. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served 1945-1946. Dewey was a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 326. He enjoyed many hobbies, including auto body, woodworking, gardening, model trains and had a love of the water and boating. He served as a township supervisor for Washington Twp. He also had worked toward getting his private pilot certification. He is survived by his two daughters, Theresa A. (David) Newman of Dalmatia and Linda M. (Mark) Yon of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren, Michelle (James) Schreffler, Melissa (Jason) Stanchock, Michael (Diana) Newman, Matthew (Zahraa) Newman, Timothy (Heather) Yon and Tiffany (Jonathan) Aitken; 12 great-grandchildren and two brothers, James and Steve Wilbert. Dewey also was preceded in death by siblings, Richard, John Lloyd, Josephine Barge, Ramona Long, Rosalyn Lloyd and Dorothy Brown. A funeral service was held April 30 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd., Elizabethville. Burial with military honors was at Enders Cemetery, Halifax.
