Delmar D. "Red" Wiest St.

ELIZABETHVILLE • Delmar D. “Red” Wiest Sr., 81, of Elizabethville, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at his home. He was born in Klingerstown, June 4, 1938, a son of the late Roy A. and Dorothy Harner Wiest. Red was a retired contracted home delivery hauler with Agway Fuels, Millersburg. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a talented woodworker who enjoyed making almost anything out of wood, especially birdhouses. He was an avid race car fan, and when he was younger, was a driver at local tracks. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Eugene, Ronald and Robert Wiest; and a son-in-law, Dustin Rhoads. Surviving are his four children: Delmar Wiest Jr., and his companion Janella, Lykens; Craig Whary, Elizabethville; Michele Silks, Elizabethville and Jody Rhoads, Wiconisco; his siblings: Alice Morgan, Schuylkill Haven; Alfred Wiest, Elizabethville; Barb “Doll” Bowman, Klingerstown and Roy L. Wiest, Elizabethville; eight grandchildren: K.J. Ramer, Nicole Douglas, Ryan Rhoads, Ashley Reiner, Crystal Whary, Britanie Rhoads, Kyle Silks and Cody Serucsak; five great-grandchildren: Kathryn “Katie” and Ronan Douglas; Carter and Karsyn Ramer and Trinity Reed; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt. Burial will be in St. Peter’s United Methodist Cemetery, Fearnot. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the chapel. To sign the guest book, visit dimonfuneralhome.com
