ELIZABETHVILLE • David R. “Chumly” Smith, 51, of Elizabethville, died May 14, 2019, at home. He was born Aug. 1, 1967, in Harrisburg. He was the son of Raymond C. Smith and his wife Karen and the late Clara Jean (Williard) Smith. He was a member at Peace UCC, Berrysburg, and was the former treasurer for the Gratz Fire Co. He was self-employed as an “Amish Uber.” He enjoyed being outside camping, boating and fishing. One of his favorite pastimes was mowing the grass. In addition to his father, he is survived by his sons Kolby M. Smith of Dornsife, Jordan A. Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., his loving companion Dawn Feagley Wolfe and her children Addy and Preston Wolfe; an aunt Alice Straub of Valley View; cousins Delroy and Brad; and stepchildren Dustin Whary, Felicia Moore and Faith Moore. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 25 at Peace United Church of Christ, Berrysburg, from 10-11 a.m. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., with burial to follow in Gratz Union Cemetery.
