David F. ‘Prune’ Hatter

DONALDSON • David F. “Prune” Hatter, 74, died suddenly, Oct. 30 at his home. Born April 18, 1946, in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Ralph Merwin and Marie Catherine Morgan Hatter. He was a 1965 graduate of the former Tremont High School. He retired as a forklift operator from Richmond Screw/Dayton Superior, Tremont. He had also been a heavy equipment operator in the strip mines. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a lifelong member of the Little Run Sportsman’s Club, Tremont; a lifelong and active member of the Donaldson Fire Co.; a member of the Short Mountain Trap Team and the United Steel Workers Union and had served as a first responder with Tremont Ambulance for many years. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Linda M. Horan Hatter; his three children, David R. Hatter of Donaldson; Denise M. Erickson of Harrisburg and Daniel M. Hatter of Jonestown; three granddaughters; a brother, Merwin “Bud” Hatter of Donaldson; nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life was held Nov. 8 from the Tremont Fire Co. Burial was in the Donaldson Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Donaldson Fire Co., 1 W. Center St., Donaldson PA 17981 or to the Tremont Ambulance Association, 49 North St., Tremont PA 17981. The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Tower City, handled arrangements.
