ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. • Darrel Lee Reinfeld, age 78, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, in Zephyrhills, Fla., with his children. Darrel was born in Mitchell, S.D., Jan. 27, 1942. He then moved to the Halifax area in 1952. Darrel was employed at International Harvester in the heavy equipment/tractor division, Double “R” Motors (business owner with father Grant Reinfeld), Darrel’s Trucking (independent truck driver/business owner), Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (heavy equipment operator and instructor/trainer B) until his retirement. He was a member of several organizations including the VFW Post 5507, Moose, American Legion, Erdman Sportsman’s Association Inc. and the International Harvester Collectors (Fl Chapter 27) Darrel was a beloved and devoted father and best friend to his children. He loved to go to the diner in Halifax and the donut shop in Zephyrhills to shoot the breeze. Darrel was a man who truly loved Farmall tractors (International Harvester) and would be the first to tell you, “If it ain’t red, leave it in the shed.” He also liked Harley Davidson, Ford and some John Deere tractors. He was a simple man with the greatest mechanical talent and considered a master mechanic on vehicles, heavy equipment and tractors. Many friends and family would say he was the “go-to guy.” He was preceded in death by his father Grant Reinfeld and brother Harlan Reinfeld. Surviving in addition to his mother Lillian are his sisters Annette Gerhart with husband Dick, Carol Myers with husband Harold; sister-in-law Harlan’s wife Joyce L.; his daughters Mychelle Raisbeck Lawrence with husband Dave and Kymberly Corkum with husband Donald L.; his son Darrell E. Reinfeld with wife Jaimie; and five grandchildren Tiffanie Raisbeck, Denver Corkum, Kylee Corkum, Desha Reinfeld and Logan Rothermel. There will be a memorial service at the Fisherville Volunteer Fire Co. located at 16 Church St. in Halifax Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. Afterward there will be a gathering for close family and friends at 21 Church St. at the “Shop” directly across from the firehouse.
