GRATZ • Daniel E. Ferree, age 93, of Coon Trail Lane, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at Tower Health Reading Hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1927, in Coaldale, Dauphin County, the son of the late John and Eva (Kobel) Ferree. His wife of 61 years, Elsie Mae “Dollie” Ferree, passed in 2015. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. Daniel worked at various garment factories in the area, including the former Phyl-Mar in Gratz and the former Valley View Apparel. He was an avid hunter for most of his life and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Bonnie (Glenn) Deibert, Sacramento, Randall (Glenda) Ferree, Gratz, Cindy (Nancy) Ferree, Myerstown, Barbara (Robert) White, Harrisburg, Ronald (Annette) Ferree, Elizabethville, and John (Judith) Ferree, Elizabethville; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Ferree, Sunbury, and a sister, Shirley Reed, Pillow. He was preceded in death by a great- grandson, Hunter Ferree. A graveside funeral will be held at the convenience of the family at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Berrysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 270, Berrysburg, PA 17005.
