HERNDON • Dale W. “Ducky” Gonsar, resident of Herndon, Pa., passed peacefully Dec. 12, 2019. He was born in Trevorton June 8, 1948, to the late Lee E. Gonsar and the late Bertha A. (Radel) Gonsar. He was a member of the last graduating class of Trevorton High School in 1966, and attended R.E.T.S. Electronics School in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Vietnam, 1969-70. He married Joyce E. (Rissinger) Gonsar on May 3, 1969, who survives. He was a Past Master and Past Secretary of Herndon Lodge No. 702 F&AM, a Past High Priest of Northumberland Chapter No. 174, a Past Thrice Illustrious Master of Vallerchamp Council No. 25 and a Past Commander of Mt. Hermon Commandery No. 85. He was a member of Penn Priory No. 6 and received the Knights York Cross of Honour. He was a Past Puissant Sovereign of St James Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine No. 313. He was a member of the Harrisburg Consistory and a Past Sovereign Prince of the Council. He was coroneted a 33rd Degree Mason in 2005 at Grand Rapids, Mich. He was treasurer of the Snyder-Northumberland Scottish Rite Club. He was a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon No. 25, Millersburg. He was a member of the Stone Valley Church in Dalmatia. He was a member of the American Legion Post 92, Trevorton, the VFW Post 7813, Trevorton, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter No. 20, Rochester, N.Y., a member of the Susquehannock Hunters Association and the NRA. He was an electrical contractor and electrical inspector for Commonwealth Inspections, Manheim. He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Dept. of General Services as an electrical construction inspector in 2010. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jennifer L. D’Lima of Rochester, N.Y. (Neil D’Lima), and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry L. Gonsar in 1979. There will be no memorial nor funeral services. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Stone Valley Church, 1899 Mountain Top Rd., Dalmatia, PA 17017. The Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, Pa., is assisting the family with the arrangements.
