WILLIAMSTOWN • Clyde R. Thompson, 89, died July 5 at Heritage Mills Personal Care and Memory Assist Center, Tower City. He was born March, 24, 1930, in Tower City, a son of the late Roy and Margaret Houtz Thompson. He was a retired supervisor from Western Electric Telephone Co. He was a nine-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Williamstown American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Merl Boyer Thompson; three brothers: Lamar, Robert and Roy; and three sisters: Marlene, Thelma and Mary Lou. He is survived by a son, Ronald Thompson of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Thompson of Tower City. Services with military honors will be held Friday, July 12 at 1 p.m. from Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Williamstown EMS, P.O.
