MILLERSBURG • Cleo M. Malone, age 85, formerly of Millersburg, passed away peacefully Feb. 1, 2020, at Colonial Park Care Center in Harrisburg. She was born Feb. 22, 1934, in Wiconisco, Pa., daughter of the late Vinson and Edna Waters. She was the widow of the late Robert C. Malone, who passed away in 1999. Cleo was known to many people as “Mammy Malone.” She operated a day care facility in her home in Millersburg for many years. Cleo’s favorite past times were gardening, knitting and reading. She loved her dogs Starlight and Koochie. Cleo collected dolls and was a member of the local Doll Club. Cleo is survived by her six children: Karen Smith (Ray) of Elizabethville; Robert Shutt (Geretta) of Halifax; Beth Boesman (Paul) of Loyalton; Victoria Newcomb (Tim) of Halifax; Annette Troutman (Ricky) of Jim Thorpe; Craig Malone (Barb) of Millersburg; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grand-children; brothers Mark Waters (Marcie) of Wiconisco and David Waters of Lykens; a sister Gail Waters of Tower City. In addition to her husband Robert, Cleo was preceded in death by her two great-grandsons, Tyler Ross-Mortensen and Aidan Dunnachie; and her siblings Leona, John, Mary, Vinson Jr. and George. There will be a Celebration of Life for Cleo Saturday, Feb. 15 at Salem United Church of Christ in Elizabethville at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation prior to the service, from 10-11 a.m. Cleo will be buried with her husband at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
