TREMONT • Clarence R. Freeman, 85, died Feb. 27 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1933, in Tremont, a son of the late Theodore and Dora Richter Freeman. He was a graduate of the former Tremont High School. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran achieving a rating of Specialist 4th Class in the Tank Maintenance Division in the 83rd Ordinance Co at Ft. Knox, Ky. He retired after 35 years from the Lebanon VA Medical Center as a nurses aide. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kroh Freeman; a sister, Phyllis Lehan; and stepsister, June Kieffer. He is survived by two sons, Randall Freeman of Deturksville and Kevin Freeman of Williamstown; a daughter, Lori Somers of Tremont; a stepbrother, Theodore Freeman Jr. of Lancaster; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
