WILLIAMSTOWN • March 10, our most beloved mother, Claire Evelyn Talhelm “Mom,” 98, passed away quietly of natural causes at her home in Williamstown. She was born Feb. 28, 1923, the daughter of the late Gladys O. and Eldon W. Snyder. Mom was the last surviving member of the Williamstown High School Class of 1940. After graduation, she moved to and worked in Lansing, Mich., until her marriage to our father, John J. Talhelm, Jan. 2, 1944. They returned to Williamstown, where Mom filled their home with love, laughter, good cooking and five lively children, who loved her dearly. Mom is survived by all of her five children: Jimmy Talhelm and wife Trudy of Millersburg, Janis Miller and husband Jim of Williamstown, Wendy Gentile and husband John of Lancaster, Lisa Unger and husband Brian of Tower City, and Jon Talhelm and wife Brenda of Allentown. Her greatest joy was her 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mom also was blessed to have Maryanne Murray as her caretaker and friend during the last number of years. A homemaker all of her life, Mom was the kindest and gentlest of women. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid swimmer and loved gathering with friends and family. Her favorite past-time in recent years was sitting on her back porch watching the many birds and small animals that frequented her feeders. A celebration of Mom’s life will be held at the United Methodist Church of Williamstown March 16, 2021. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for visitors and the service will begin at 10 am. A private interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williams-town United Metho-dist Church, 150 East St., Williamstown PA 17098 or to the Williamstown American Legion Post No. 239, 123 W. Market St., Williamstown PA 17098. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. To send online condolences, visit dimon funeralhome.com Paid by funeral home
