MILLERSBURG • Charles A. Straub, 93, formally of Lykens Twp., died Sept. 12 at Polk Personal Care Center, Millersburg.
He was born Nov. 16, 1926, in Valley View, a son of the late Hilda and Harry A. Straub.
He was employed as a steel worker for Bethlehem Steel in Steelton.
He served in the U.S. Army 511th Parachute Infantry Regiment 1945–1946.
He was a member of Zion Klinger’s Lutheran Church, Erdman; Masonic Lodge, Valley View; Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest No. 125, Millersburg; Loyal Order of the Moose, Millersburg; Gratz VFW Post No. 2385, NRA, Erdman Sportman’s Club, Mandata Rod and Gun Club and a life member of Gratz Fire Co.
He is survived by two daughters, Drinda Laudenslager of Lykens Twp. and Diann Paulachok of Cresco; son, Duane Straub of Millersburg; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Glenn Straub, and two sisters, Arabel Klinger and Mary Sypa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Miana Straub, and brothers, Myles, Leo, Delroy, Harry D., Larry and Ronald Straub.
A private funeral service will be held at Zion Klinger’s Lutheran Church, Erdman.
