MILLERSBURG • Charles A. Keefer, 81, of Millersburg, died June 20, 2021, at Premier at Susquehanna Village. He was born May 5, 1940, the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Lebo) Keefer. He retired from Heim Electric as an electrician. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death Nov. 6, 2016, by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis J. (Kissinger) Keefer. Charles was a founding member of the Lykens Valley Roamer’s Campground, Salem Lutheran Church, Killinger, and the Broken Arrow Camp in Hillsgrove. He is survived by his sons, Todd A. Keefer and Tobby A. Keefer (Shelly Troutman); a daughter, Michele A. (Robbie Paul); brothers, Robert E. and David E. Keefer (Beth); grandchildren, Shawntel and Shane Hoover, Shane and Amy Keefer, Seth Keefer, Matthew and Chelsea Troutman, Maggie and Marc Oxendine, Shay Paul (Trisha Smink), and Cassandra Paul; 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Keef also is survived by two sisters-in-law, Millie Artz and Ella Kissinger. He was loved by all and is no longer suffering in pain. He was known as Keef and Pap to many good friends and grandchildren. He was a very talented man, he could fix anything, and if he couldn’t fix it, it was really broken. He had a kind heart, and was very knowledgeable of electronics, plumbing and auto repairs. The family would like to thank the staff at Premier at Susquehanna Nursing Home for their loving care they gave our father; thank you to the hospice nurses, and thank you to the family, friends and Pastor Godfred for the prayers, text messages and phone calls. It was a comfort to know how much he was loved and cared for by many. A memorial service was held June 25 at Salem Lutheran Church, Killinger. Burial was at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Salem Lutheran Church, Route 25, Millersburg PA 17061. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home Ltd., Millersburg, a Minnich Funeral location, handled arrangements. To sign the online guest book, go to minnichfuneral.com Paid by funeral home
