Catherine J. Williams

MUIR • Catherine J. Williams, 95, of Muir, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Jan. 21, 1926, in Muir, she was a daughter of the late Laura Miller Stahl. Catherine retired from the garment industry as a seamstress. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Muir, where she was a member of the choir and the Helping Hands. Catherine enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family, gardening and doing word search puzzles. She was a volunteer with United Cerebral Palsy organization for many years. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Thomas “Harry” Williams, 2014; two sons, infant Richard Williams and Rev. Thomas Williams; a daughter, whom Catherine was extremely devoted to, Patricia Williams; a sister, Grace Hause; and a brother, Elmer Long. Surviving are her two sons, Robert “Abe” Williams and his wife Carol of Muir; Patrick Williams and his wife Daryl of Pine Grove; five grandchildren, Charles Roeder, Kristin, Ryan and Corey Williams, and Ashley Johnson; five great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Onika, Adam, Brynna and Lilia; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held April 12, 2021, at Grace United Methodist Church, Muir, with Pastor Amanda Bressler officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery, Muir. Memorial donations can be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 101 E. Wiconisco St., Muir PA 17957. The Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., has been entrusted with the arrangements.
