TOWER CITY Cathaleen M. “Cass” Carl, 88, of Tower City, died April 13 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Clarks Valley, Sept. 9, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Irvin and Mildred Esterline Hummel. She was a 1948 graduate of Porter Township High School. She was a retired seamstress from the garment industry. She formerly attended the Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen “Gutch” Carl, 2005; two brothers, William and Donald Hummel; and one sister, Joyce Wise. Surviving are one daughter, Gail Minnich, Tower City; one son, Wesley Carl of North Carolina; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Marian Kiehl, of Tower City, nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, April 18 from Christ United Methodist Church, Tower City. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.
