LYKENS • Carolyn E. Sims, 67, of Lykens, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 4, 2021, at her home. Carol was born July 24, 1953, in Lykens, a daughter of the late Donald and Shirley Teter Lontz. She was a 1971 graduate of Williams Valley High School. Carol retired as a seamstress from the former Lebro Shirt Factory, Lykens. She was a very active member of the former Wesley United Methodist Church, Wiconisco, where she served as the secretary, organist, historian and a Sunday school teacher. She was currently a member of the Immanuel – Wesley United Methodist Church, Loyalton. Carol will be remembered for her love for her family. She loved being a grandma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sims, 1999. Surviving are her two children, Ryan Sims and Michele Sims, both of Lykens; two sisters, Linda Lontz of Tower City and Lori Rodichok of Mifflinburg; three granddaughters, Sydney and Erica Sims; Adrianna Etzweiler; and a baby boy grandson due in July. Services were held March 9, 2021, at Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City. Private burial was in the Calvary United Methodist Cemetery, Wiconisco. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol’s memory to the Immanuel-Wesley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 859, Elizabethville PA 17023.
