Blanche L. Shadle

MILLERSBURG • Blanche L. Shadle, 91, of 301 North St., (Polk Personal Care Center), passed away, March 25, 2021, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born Jan. 9, 1930, in Millersburg, daughter of the late George and Susan (Miller) Boyer. She was the widow of William E. Shadle. Blanche retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. She was a member and former choir member at David’s Community Bible Church, Millersburg. She was a member of the Eastern Star and was a past worthy matron. Blanche enjoyed flowers, gardening, music, reading, arts and crafts, Bible studies and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her two sons, Douglas (Sharon) Shadle, Trevorton, and Craig Shadle, Millersburg; grandchildren, Brooke Shadle, Edward (Amber) Shadle, and Victoria (Kyle) Owens; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Shadle, Aaliyah Shadle and, Silas Owens; and a sister, Bernice (Harry) Weaver. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly A. Shadle; six brothers, Marlin, Roy, Clark, George Jr., Paul and Charles Boyer; five sisters, Gladys Boyer, Mary Arlene Russell, Edna Boyer, Reba Underkoffler and Miriam Betty Hassinger; and a grandson, Andrew Shadle. A funeral service was held March 30, 2021, at David’s Community Bible Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations may be made in Blanche’s memory to David’s Community Bible Church.
