CEDAR HILL, Texas • Bettie Platt Miller of Cedar Hill, Texas, a former longtime resident of Lykens, Pa., passed away July 22, 2019. She was born July 22, 1931, to Edgar Gilmore Platt and Sarah Lippencott Platt. Prior to her marriage to George D. Miller, she was an X-ray technician at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She later retired from her career as an elementary school secretary. Bettie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, George D. Miller and her two sons, Edgar Miller and Malachi Miller. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Abigail Pemberton and her husband Craig, and Rebecca Miller; daughter-in-law, Maggie Miller; and granddaughters, Emma and Zoe. Graveside services are 9 a.m., Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
