HALIFAX • Barbara Rose Kotkiewicz, age 82, passed away suddenly, Sept. 19, 2019, at her home. She was born Sept. 4, 1937, in Amboy, Ill., daughter of the late Honorable Judge William and Clarice (Hohn) Gleason. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Kotkiewicz. Barbara was a retired registered nurse and served her patients for many years as a visiting nurse in Dauphin County. She was a devout Catholic and longtime member and active participant at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Dauphin. After many wonderful years with her husband George, she continued her life gardening and caring for the animals on the family farm. Barbara was a very active contributor to the family’s Valley Ag and Turf dealerships. Barbara organized and ran the popular John Deere Days celebrated annually. But first and foremost in her life was her family whose company she always enjoyed. Her holiday meals were highlights for the entire family. Thanksgiving and Christmas were so important because of all the love she brought to each celebration. Bebe’s spirit will reside in our hearts forever. She is survived by a daughter Elizabeth and husband Dr. John Erhard of Moosic, a son, Tige and wife Tama of Halifax, and a son William and wife Jennifer of Harrisburg; three siblings: Patricia, Margery and Leonard Theiss; four granddaughters Alex, Jacki, Brooke and Keeley, all Kotkiewicz’s and four great-grandsons, Kason, Jaxon, Blake and Noah. A private funeral mass for family members will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at St. Mathew’s Church, Dauphin. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mathew’s Church, 607 Stoney Creek Dr., Dauphin, PA 17018. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Elizabethville, is handling the arrangements.
