TOWER CITY • Barbara A. Miller, 66, of Tower City, passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family after an 11-year courageous battle against breast cancer. Born in Lykens, April 11, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Betty Trego Scheib. Barb was a 1972 graduate of Williams Valley High School. She was a school bus driver for the Williams Valley School District for more than 25 years; a job she loved, and looked forward to seeing her “kids” every day. Her family was the center of her world. Car racing was a huge part of Barb’s life. She could often be found in the stands cheering on her son and grandsons. She loved camping, and everyone was always welcomed at Barb and John’s. On Aug. 23, Barb and John’s family and friends surprised them with a ceremony to renew their wedding vows. It was a day that will never be forgotten. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Larry, Tim, Aaron and Paul Scheib. Surviving is the love of her life, her husband of 49 years, John M. Miller; two children, Troy Miller and his wife Jennifer, Tower City, and Heather Hendricks and her husband Derrick, Ringtown; brother, Daniel Scheib and his wife Denise, Tower City; sister, Jeanne Blyler and her husband Lenny, Jonestown; six grandchildren she adored, Shaun, Rebecca, Matthew, Rayce and Autumn; nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 18 from 10-11 a.m. from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc. Full CDC guidelines will be followed, and masks are required. Following the visitation a graveside service will begin at 11:15 a.m. from St. Peter’s Cemetery, Orwin, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barb’s memory can be made to Hospice of Central PA, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
