Arlayne Marie Kobel

GRATZ • Arlayne Marie Kobel, 90, of Gratz, passed away Sunday morning, April 4, 2021, at her home. She was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Lykens Twp., Pa., a daughter of the late Harry E. and Elvirdia Miller Welker. Arlayne was a seamstress for the former Dormar Mfg, Gratz. She was a member of St. Peter’s “Hoffman’s” United Church of Christ, Lykens, as well as a lifetime member of the Gratz Area Fire Co. No. 1; life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary No. 2385, Gratz, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Herndon. Arlayne enjoyed sewing, going to camp and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. Kobel, three brothers, Elwood, Lester and Clarence Welker; and a sister, Helen Yergo. She is survived by her son, Keith E. and wife Cynthia Kobel of Halifax; granddaughter, Lora Kobel of Halifax; grandson, Joshua Kobel of Halifax; sister, Hannah Klinger of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held April 10 at St. Peter’s “Hoffman’s” United Church of Christ, Lykens, with Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Burial was in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lykens.
