This week’s Sentinel features a unique piece of local history – the remains of Victoria Furnace, located in Clarks Valley between Tower City and Dauphin. Built in 1830 and standing about the height of a four-story building, the original furnace produced iron at the dawn of the nation’s Industrial Age. Sentinel Columnist Jim Leaman and Millersburg resident Bob Fromme Jr. (pictured at the entrance) ventured to the site late last year.
