SPRING GLEN • Whalen E. Wenrich Sr., 87, died Oct. 7 at his residence. He was born July 10, 1932, in Hubley Twp., a son of the late Ellis and Mary Bowman Wenrich. He was a self-employed coal miner and also was a truck driver for Harvey Umholtz and AA Shade, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Gratz VFW, Gratz Fire Co. and the Valley View Gun Club. He was preceded in death by two sons, David Wenrich and Randy Wenrich; two brothers, Charles Wenrich and Robert Wenrich; an infant brother; and two sisters, M. Annabelle Wenrich and Nancy Laudenslager. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna Kissinger Wenrich; three sons: Richard Wenrich of Sacramento, Whalen Wenrich Jr. of Herndon, and Lynn Wenrich of Valley View; two daughters, Lori Belack of Gratz and Tammy Wenrich of Lykens; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
