HARRISBURG • Sean Lee Kerstetter, 42, of Harrisburg, passed away suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020. He was born Aug. 14, 1978, in Harrisburg, the son of Deborah (Thomas) Scheib of Elizabethville and Ronald (Norie) Kerstetter of Halifax. Sean was a 1997 graduate of Millersburg High School and after graduation would go on to earn his degree in Culinary Arts from the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa. Sean’s culinary degree would take him from Pennsylvania to Colorado, where he did his externship at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo. From there he would work at various restaurants and hotels in Colorado, Washington state and Idaho through the years. Most recently, Sean had purchased a food distribution route through Snyder/Lance and was delivering product to various stores throughout the Lehigh Valley. In 2002, he would meet his wife, Lisa, and in 2012, they welcomed a daughter, Avree. Growing up, Sean played many sports, with hockey being his first passion. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins as well as the Steelers. Baltimore Orioles won out when it came to baseball. Penn State was his team for college football, but he supported Boise State Broncos as well for his wife, who is from Idaho. In his downtime, Sean enjoyed spending time with family, cooking and fishing. He was a foodie, and loved going and trying new places. Sitting along the Susquehanna River in Millersburg was a favorite activity whenever he was in the area. Sean is survived by his wife, Lisa and their daughter, Avree, his mom, Deborah and stepdad Thomas Scheib, his dad, Ron and stepmom Norie Kerstetter, grandparents, Wilbur and Phyllis Kerstetter, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family on his wife’s side. Sean is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Rena Wert, and his father-in-law, Bruce Cole. There will be a memorial service Saturday, Oct. 24 at 10 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 205 W. Main St., Elizabethville. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. The family requests that memorial donations may be sent to 124 Hiddenwood Dr., Harrisburg, PA 17110 or sent to the Cash App account $lisadawn8301.
