MILLERSBURG • Myron E. Riland, age 89, of Lebo Street, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Premier at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg. He was born in Washington Twp., Jan. 19, 1930, son of the late Charles and Hannah (Phillips) Riland. He was the widower of June A. (Lenker) Riland. He was a lifetime member, former council member and served on the church cemetery association of St. John’s Evangelical Church, Berrysburg. He owned and operated the former Maydale Greenhouse, Millersburg. He had done general construction for many local firms over the years. He also had worked in the past for TRW, Millersburg Products Co. and the Upper Dauphin Sentinel office. He was an avid reader, horticulturalist and enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. Myron was active in Boy Scouts Troop No. 151 and the Millersburg Historical Society. He is survived by two children, Rena Mae Shomper and Dean L. (Rebecca) Riland, all of Millersburg; grandchildren: Tim (Amy) Shomper, Newport, Matthew (Brandi) Riland, Todd Riland (companion, Joni Stoneroad) and Megann (Brent) Roadcap, all of Millersburg; great-grandchildren: Tyler Shomper, Kylie Shomper and Camyrn Shomper, all of Newport, Mary Riland, Sarah Riland, Hunter Roadcap and Hudson Roadcap, all of Millersburg. There will be a visitation held at his church Wednesday, July 17, 2019, from 10-11 a.m. Memorial services will start at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom Bruner officiating. Burial in the church cemetery will follow the service. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes, Ltd., Millersburg, is handling the arrangements. Sign the online register book at minnichfuneral.com
