FALL SPORTS POSTSEASON UPDATE

BOYS’ SOCCER
• Halifax won the District 3-2A championship Oct. 30 and will face the runner-up in District 4-1A (either East Juniata or Millville) Tuesday, Nov. 5 at a venue and time yet to be confirmed.

The status of the 2019 fall sports postseason is as follows as of Friday, Nov. 1:

FOOTBALL
• Upper Dauphin Area hosts Newport Nov. 1 for a 7 p.m. kickoff in a District 3-2A semifinal.

• Line Mountain travels to Troy for a 7 p.m. kickoff Saturday, Nov. 2 in a District 4-2A first round matchup.

• Williams Valley advances to the D11-1A semifinal next weekend to play either Tri-Valley or Nativity. The Vikings’ game scheduled for Nov. 1 against Shenandoah Valley was canceled.

• Millersburg will compete for the District 3, Class 1A championship.
The Indians travel to southwestern Adams County Friday, Nov. 1. They’ll square off against Fairfield for the trophy and gold medals at 7 p.m.
The winner advances to the state 1A playoffs, starting the weekend of Nov. 15-16.

BOYS’ SOCCER
• Halifax won the District 3-2A championship Oct. 30 and will face the runner-up in District 4-2A (either Lewisburg or Midd-West) Tuesday, Nov. 5 at a venue and time yet to be confirmed.

CROSS COUNTRY
• Millersburg’s Jacob Mavretic will compete in the PIAA 1A state championship meet 11:45 a.m. on the Hershey Entertainment Complex grounds (behind Giant Center).
In other contests played this week:
• Millersburg was defeated by Mount Calvary Christian in the D3-1A volleyball semifinal round Oct. 31. The Indians were the only one of three area teams – along with Northern Dauphin Christian School and UDA – to advance out of the Oct. 29 quarterfinal rounds.
• Line Mountain was defeated by Lewisburg Oct. 29 in the D4-1A field hockey semifinal.
• Williams Valley was defeated by Minersville in the D11-1A girls’ soccer semifinal, also Oct. 29.
