MIDDLETOWN • Julie A. Kahler, 47, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest Sunday, March 17, 2019, at York Memorial Hospital, York. She was born Sept. 28, 1971, in Norwich, Conn., and was the loving daughter of Randy G. and Judy C. “Cookie” (Visloskie) Schaffner. Julie was a 1989 graduate of Line Mountain High School in Herndon, Pa. Julie was a devoted daughter, wife and mother, and her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She enjoyed many things such as gardening, decorating her house for Christmas, traveling and watching Penn State and Middletown Blue Raider sports. Her greatest joy was cheering on her daughter as her biggest fan in softball, soccer and volleyball. In addition to her parents, Julie is survived by her devoted husband of 22 years, Chris Kahler; her loving daughter, Chloe Kahler of Middletown; brother, Michael Schaffner (Alexis); paternal grandmother, Esther (Bellis) Schaffner; uncles, Steve Schaffner (Robin), Keith Schaffner (Kathy), Kim Schaffner; aunt, Barbara Buchanan (James); nieces and nephews, Gavin, Evan and Evelyn Schaffner and Sarah and Justin Lesher; in-laws, Paul and June Kahler; brothers-in-law, Michael Kahler (Rhoda), Timothy Kahler; sister-in-law, Angela Lesher (Jeremy). A tribute to Julie’s life will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 260 E. Main St., Middletown, Pa., with the Rev. Britt Strohecker officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service Saturday. In lieu of flowers, send memorial contributions in Julie’s name to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 101 Erford Rd., Suite 201, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
