BID NOTICE

The Middle Paxton Township will receive sealed bids in the form of a single lump sum contract for work at the Joint Municipal and Fire Station Building.  Work includes but is not limited to:

• Repointing mortar joints in split face CMU

• Installation of joint sealant at specified locations

• Application of water repellant to specified area of CMU.

Bids are due at the Joint Municipal and Fire Station Building, 10 Elizabeth Avenue, Dauphin, PA 17018, no later than 1:00 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, May 2, 2014, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read. Bids sent via the U.S. Postal Service should be sent to Middle Paxton Township, P.O. Box 277, Dauphin, PA 17018.  Middle Paxton Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids. 

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Joint Municipal and Fire Station Building, 10 Elizabeth Avenue, Dauphin, PA 17018.  Non-attendees will not be permitted to bid.

Electronic Contract Documents: bidders may obtain one (1) set of Bid/Contract Documents in electronic format (PDF) upon request to D’HUY ENGINEERING, INC., 1 East Broad Street, Suite 310, Bethlehem, PA 18018, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00). Checks are to be made payable to D’Huy Engineering, Inc.  An additional fee of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) shall be included if the documents are requested to be sent.

Bidders will be required to provide bid security in the amount of 10% of the proposal. A bank check or bid bond will be accepted.

Contract to use prevailing wage rates as determined by the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Industry. These rates must be paid by the contractor.  Employees shall not be discriminated against because of race, color, age, religion, sex, or national origin.

 NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Jackson Township intends to adopt the following Ordinance at their regularly scheduled meeting on May 14, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., at the Township building located at 450 Bastian Rd, Halifax, Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, the purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Ordinance No. 2010-3, Stormwater Management Ordinance, as follows:

1. Ordinance No. 2010-3 is hereby amended to replace Section 302.D. to I.; add Section 302.J; revise Section 303.B.2, Adding /Section 303.2A, and Revising Section 303.C; change title of Appendix D; include Appendix E – Stormwater Management Site Plan Exemption Application; include Appendix F – Small Project Manual.

2. The amendment shall take effect upon adoption and all other provisions of Ordinance 2010-3 remain in effect.

The proposed Ordinance No. 2014-1  may be examined Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday,  between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.at the Township building.

NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Jefferson Township intends to adopt an Ordinance, a summary of which is provided below, at their regularly scheduled meeting on May 1, 2014, at 7:30 p.m., at the Carsonville Volunteer Fire Company building located at, 2990 Powell’s Valley Road, Halifax, Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, the purpose of this Ordinance is to amend Ordinance No. J-124, Stormwater Management Ordinance, as follows:

1. Ordinance No. J-124 is hereby amended to replace Section 302.D.-.1, with a new revised Section 302.D-.1 dealing with exemptions from compliance with requirements of the Ordinance; add Section 302.J providing for Township discretion in exemption or modification decisions; revise Section 303.B.2 involving the simplified method of volume controls; Add Section 303.2A for minor project volume control, and Revise Section 303.C requiring use of BMP Manual worksheets; change title of Appendix D; include Appendix E – Stormwater Management Site Plan Exemption Application; include Appendix F – Small Project Manual.

2. The amendment shall take effect upon adoption and all other provisions of Ordinance J-124 remain in effect.

BID NOTICE

Dauphin Borough will receive bids for a road and paving project in the Borough of Dauphin until 2:00 p.m., prevailing time on June 3, 2014, at 430 East Main Street, Palmyra, PA  17078. 

All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the regularly scheduled meeting on June 3, 2014 at the Dauphin Borough building, 200 Church Street, Dauphin, PA.  Contract documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, are on file at the office of the Engineers of Light-Heigel & Associates, Inc., 430 East Main Street, Palmyra, PA 17078. 

Copies of the Contract Documents may be  obtained by depositing $20.00, payable to Dauphin Borough for each set of contract documents so obtained. No refund will be made for returned documents.  Addenda, if any, will be issued only to those persons whose name and address are on record with the owner as having obtained the Contract Documents. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Dauphin Borough, or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par  value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid.

The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.  Bids may be held by the owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening bids for the purpose of  reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract.

Notice of Intent to Adopt Ordinance

Notice is hereby given that the Halifax Township Board of Supervisors intend to adopt a Fireworks Ordinance at its Monthly Business Meeting of May 12, 2014 at the Halifax Township Municipal Building. 

This ordinance regulates public displays of fireworks in the providing for the granting of permits for supervised public displays of fireworks, prescribing safeguards concerning same, prohibiting public displays of fireworks and the possession, sale, use and distribution thereof for purposes other than public displays without obtaining a permit therefore and prescribing penalties for violations in Halifax Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. A full copy of the ordinance is available for public inspection at the Halifax Township Municipal Building during normal business hours of  9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
