BID NOTICE

Notice to Contractors

Sealed proposals will be received by Middle Paxton Township Board of Supervisors in their office at 10 Elizabeth Ave., Dauphin, PA, 17018 until 11:30am, Friday, May 2, 2014 for the following approximate amount of roadway paving and sealing work:  Stony Creek Paving Overlay – 2,200 tons 9.5 mm (in-place) with leveling course.

A pre-bid meeting will be held on April 23, 2014, 2:30pm, at the Township Building.  Attendance is not required.

Bid documents may be examined at the Township office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Bidders will be required to provide bid security in the amount of 10% of the proposal.  A bank check or bid bond will be accepted.

Contract to use prevailing wage rates as determined by the Secretary of the Department of Labor and Industry.  These rates must be paid by the contractor.  Employees shall not be discriminated against because of race, color, age, religion, sex, or national origin.

All proposals must be upon the form furnished by the Township.  Bids will be opened and read publicly at 11:35am, on Friday, May 2, 2014.  Middle Paxton Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

PUBLIC NOTICE

THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS OF DAUPHIN COUNTY HEREBY GIVES NOTICE, pursuant to the Electronic Voting Systems Chapter of the Pennsylvania Election Code, and specifically pursuant to Section 3031.10 (D) thereof, that preparation of an electronic voting system and its components for use in all election districts in Dauphin County will be started by Custodians appointed by the Board beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014, in the warehouse located at the Dauphin County Transportation Building, Storage Facility, 1271 S. 28th St., Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania 17111.

Pursuant to Section 3031.10, it is the right of the Chairman of the County Committee of each political party which is entitled under existing laws to participate in Primary, Municipal, Special and General Elections within Dauphin County, and the chairman or presiding officer of any organization of citizens within Dauphin County which has as its purposes the investigation or prosecution of election frauds and which has registered its name and address and the names of its principal officers with the Dauphin County Board of Elections at least fifty (50) days before the upcoming election, or of their respective certified representatives, to be present during the preparation of the electronic voting system and its components and to see that they are properly prepared and are in proper condition and order for use.  However, such representatives shall not interfere with the preparation of the electronic voting system and its components, and the conduct of such representatives may be subject to such reasonable rules and regulations promulgated by the Dauphin County Board of Elections.

Notice is hereby given that the Middle Paxton Board of Supervisors  at its meeting on Monday, May 5, 2014, at 7:00 pm at the Middle Paxton Municipal Building, 10 Elizabeth Avenue, Dauphin,  Pennsylvania, will consider, and, if appropriate, at the meeting or at a subsequent meeting held within 60 days of the date of publication of this advertisement, shall amend the Middle Paxton Township Stormwater Management Ordinance adopted January 3, 2011, the caption of which is as follows: 

AMENDMENT OF STORMWATER ORDINANCE 

The proposed amendment modifies Section 302.D-J - Exemption/Modifications, and Section 303.B.2 Volume Control -The Simplified Method to clarify procedures.  The amendment will add Appendix E – Stormwater Management Site Plan Exemption Application and Appendix F – Small Projects Manual to assist residents in complying with Middle Paxton Township Stormwater Management Ordinance, and correct typographical errors. 

A copy of the proposed amendment may be examined without charge at the Middle Paxton Township Municipal Building, 10 Elizabeth Avenue, Dauphin, PA, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.  A copy of the proposed amendment may be obtained for the cost of reproduction at the Middle Paxton Township Building during the above hours.

BID NOTICE

The Middle Paxton Township will receive sealed bids in the form of a single lump sum contract for work at the Joint Municipal and Fire Station Building.  Work includes but is not limited to:

• Repointing mortar joints in split face CMU

• Installation of joint sealant at specified locations

• Application of water repellant to specified area of CMU.

Bids are due at the Joint Municipal and Fire Station Building, 10 Elizabeth Avenue, Dauphin, PA 17018, no later than 1:00 p.m. prevailing time on Friday, May 2, 2014, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read. Electronic Contract Documents: bidders may obtain one (1) set of Bid/Contract Documents in electronic format (PDF) upon request to D’HUY ENGINEERING, INC., 1 East Broad Street, Suite 310, Bethlehem, PA 18018, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Fifty Dollars ($50.00). Checks are to be made payable to D’Huy Engineering, Inc.  An additional fee of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) shall be included if the documents are requested to be sent.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Board of Supervisors of Middle Paxton Township hereby gives public notice that it will consider enactment of Ordinance No. 2014-01 on May 5 at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Municipal Building, 10 Elizabeth Avenue, Dauphin, County, Pennsylvania. Ordinance No. 2014-01 would establish a speed limit of 40 miles per hour on McKelvey Road within Middle Paxton Township. Ordinance No. 2014-01 also contains a penalty provision, severability clause and an effective date.

A copy of Ordinance No. 2014-01 may be examined without charge or a copy of the ordinance may be obtained for the cost to prepare the copy at the Township Municipal Building during regular business hours.
